We opened the year with a surplus of about $2,500 and, year to date, 16 folks have paid their annual $300 in fees for a total of $4,800 collected and a total of $7,300 in Sources of Funds.
Use of Funds to date have included about $4,400 to Tripp Excavating for materials only this year, noting we spent nothing as an association on road work as Dan and his son Scott undertook the majority of the actual maintenance work. This dollar value is more than we've spent in recent years and allowed us to not only do annual maintenance on the entire road but some improvements to about the 1/2 the length. The hope is to repeat the plan next year with a focus on the 1/2 that didn't get the extra attention - huge thanks to Dan and Scott for their volunteer work and helping us stretch our dollars
We've also already paid our annual road insurance costs which was $607 this year, same as the 2019 premium. The policy is in effect until May 30, 2021. If you ever have a claim or suspect a claim might be forthcoming reach out to me and I'll connect you with our broker.
We are anticipating paying the annual FOCA fee in July noting the 2019 fee was about $200 and I have no reason to expect this year will be much different.
That will then leave us with about $2,100 from which we'll pay bank fees and any incidentals for Thanksgiving and any event that might replace the cancelled/postponed annual meeting which should leave us with a balance of $1,750 to $2,000 going into 2021, so a drop in reserve of about $500 to $750.
All of the above assumes no additional annual fees will be collected but I am expecting a few more payments to roll in based on past payments. On that note, for those that haven't yet paid (you know who you are ... don't make me harass you!) you still have the option of e-transfer, cheque, or cash and I'd appreciate payment as soon as is convenient for you. If you need any information specific to one of these payment options just reach out and I'll work with you.
If the members of the Association are satisfied with my performance this year I'm happy to continue in the role of Treasurer for another year but if someone is interested in taking over just let me know and we can talk about what is involved.
Regards,
April Meyer
